Care Tips: Anubias barteri 'Gabon Small' is a compact version of the classic Anubias barteri, known for its deep green, leathery leaves and slow growth. It thrives in low to medium lighting and is perfect for low-tech tanks. As with other Anubias species, its rhizome should not be buried in the substrate to prevent rot—attach it to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscapes. It does not require CO₂ injection, though adding it may encourage more lush growth. Regular liquid fertilization will keep it healthy, but overfeeding can lead to algae growth. This small version is ideal for the foreground or midground of aquascapes, offering a subtle, yet striking, presence due to its deep green foliage and unique texture.
