Care Tips: Microsorum Philippine Mini is a compact, slow-growing variant of the well-known Java fern family, ideal for aquariums where space is limited. This plant thrives in low to medium lighting and can adapt to a range of water conditions, including slightly acidic to neutral pH levels. It is an epiphytic plant, meaning it does not need to be planted in the substrate but can be attached to rocks, driftwood, or other surfaces, which makes it perfect for aquascapes with hardscape features. Although it does not require CO₂ supplementation, it will benefit from nutrient-rich water and can grow more vigorously with additional CO₂ and fertilization. Regular pruning will help maintain its small, compact form. Due to its slow growth rate, patience is key, but its unique, miniature leaves make it a great addition to foreground or midground plantings in aquariums.
