Care Tips: Vesicularia on Driftwood is a form of Java Moss (Vesicularia dubyana) that is securely attached to driftwood, making it an excellent choice for aquascapes looking to create a natural, textured look. This moss grows slowly to moderately, covering driftwood and creating a lush, green appearance while offering hiding spots for small fish and shrimp. Vesicularia thrives in low to medium lighting, making it perfect for aquariums with lower lighting setups. It prefers slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 5.0–7.5) but is highly adaptable to different water conditions. It is a hardy plant that can survive in a wide range of temperatures (20–28°C). Since the moss is attached to driftwood, it’s important to avoid burying it in the substrate, as this will hinder its growth. While it grows at a medium pace, regular trimming is recommended to keep it looking neat and prevent overgrowth. Vesicularia on Driftwood is also beneficial for water quality, as it provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to thrive, helping with filtration and promoting a healthier aquarium environment.
