Care Tips: Saururus Cernuus, also known as the lizard's tail or swamp lily, is a striking aquatic plant that adds vertical height and texture to aquariums. It is characterized by its long, lance-shaped leaves and unique white, spike-like flowers. The plant thrives in medium to high lighting and prefers slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0–7.5), making it suitable for most aquariums. Saururus Cernuus grows at a medium rate, reaching heights of 30–60 cm, making it perfect for the midground or background in larger aquariums. It flourishes in water temperatures between 22–28°C and requires a nutrient-rich substrate to support healthy growth. Regular water changes and CO2 supplementation can enhance its growth, though it can also tolerate lower-tech setups with appropriate lighting. To maintain its appearance, regular pruning is recommended to prevent overgrowth and to encourage new shoots. It propagates easily through stem cuttings, which can be replanted to create new plants. Saururus Cernuus is an excellent choice for creating a natural-looking aquascape with its upright form and eye-catching flowers. It does best in aquariums where it has room to grow and thrive.
