Care Tips: Lagenandra thwaitesii is a rare and beautiful plant with broad, textured leaves that vary in shades of green to reddish-bronze depending on lighting and nutrient conditions. It resembles Cryptocoryne species in care and behavior and prefers low to medium light levels. It does not require CO₂ but will benefit from stable water parameters and nutrient-rich substrate. Like Crypts, it can be slow to establish and may go through a melt phase before regrowing. It prefers minimal disturbance once planted and appreciates root fertilization. Ideal for a low-energy setup, it adds lush foliage and a touch of exotic appeal in the foreground to midground areas of the aquarium.
