Care Tips: Micranthemum micranthemoides, often known as "Pearl Weed," is a fast-growing, delicate foreground plant that forms a dense carpet of small, round leaves. When purchased in tissue culture form, it arrives free from pests and diseases, making it a clean addition to your aquarium. This plant thrives in medium to high lighting, where it can quickly spread across the substrate to create a lush green carpet. CO₂ injection and regular fertilization will promote faster and more compact growth, but it can also survive in lower light conditions, though its growth may slow down. Micranthemum micranthemoides benefits from a nutrient-rich substrate, or root tabs, to support its root system. Regular trimming is essential to prevent it from becoming leggy and to encourage a compact, dense carpet. It’s an excellent choice for aquascapes that require a vibrant foreground, and its quick growth makes it perfect for creating lush, green ground cover for shrimp and small fish to hide in.
