Care Tips: Phyllanthus fluitans is a small, floating plant known for its bright green, round leaves that create a lush, dense coverage on the water surface. When bought in tissue culture form, it is free from pests and algae, offering a clean and safe start. This plant thrives under medium to high lighting and responds well to CO₂ supplementation, which promotes its vibrant green color and growth. It is an excellent plant for reducing light penetration, as it can cover the water's surface, providing shade and a hiding place for fish and shrimp. Regular trimming is required to prevent it from taking over the tank and to maintain a balanced surface coverage. While it can also be attached to hardscape elements like driftwood or rocks, it is most commonly used as a floating plant. Its quick growth rate helps it establish quickly in aquascapes, making it ideal for new setups or for creating floating green carpets.
