Care Tips: Juncus repens is a unique, low-growing, grass-like plant that is ideal for foreground or midground placement in aquascapes. It prefers medium to high lighting and thrives in a well-aerated substrate with adequate nutrients. It can be kept in both low-tech and CO₂-injected aquariums, although adding CO₂ will promote faster growth and more vibrant coloration. Juncus repens is well-suited for both freshwater and brackish tanks, adding a distinctive grassy look. It has a moderate growth rate and can be propagated by cutting or separating its runners. Regular trimming is necessary to maintain its compact size and prevent it from overtaking the tank. Its fine, spiky leaves provide a lovely contrast to broader-leafed plants in the aquascape.
