The classic red stem plant. Alternanthera reineckii is one of the most popular red aquarium plants, with broad leaves showing vivid red-pink undersides. A staple in Dutch-style and Nature Aquarium layouts.
High light and CO₂ bring out the best reds. Without CO₂, growth becomes leggy and color fades. Regular trimming encourages side shoots. Iron-rich fertilization recommended.
✂️ Propagation: Trim and replant cuttings. Roots in 5–7 days. Easy.
