Care Tips: Egeria najas, also known as "Brazilian Waterweed," is a fast-growing aquatic plant with long, slender stems and soft green leaves. It thrives under medium to high lighting conditions and grows quickly, making it an excellent choice for filling up space in an aquarium or for use in aquascaping. Egeria najas prefers a nutrient-rich substrate and benefits from regular fertilization, especially with iron and micronutrients. CO₂ supplementation is not strictly necessary but will enhance its growth and overall health. This plant grows rapidly and may require frequent trimming to maintain its shape and size. It works well in the midground to background of aquariums and is also helpful for absorbing excess nutrients, potentially aiding in algae control. Egeria najas is adaptable to a range of water conditions, though stable, slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0–7.5) is ideal. Its rapid growth and easy care make it a great choice for both beginner and experienced aquascapers.
